Actor Russel Brand Accused of Sexually Assaulting Extra On ‘Arthur’ Film Set

English Actor and Comedian Russel Brand is facing a new allegation of sexually assaulting a woman on the sets of the 2011 romantic comedy movie ‘Arthur.’ The woman who worked as an extra on the set of the 2011 movie ‘Arthur,’ filed a civil lawsuit on Friday, October 3, in the Supreme Court of the state of New York.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous and named Jane Doe in her affidavit, stated that on July 7, 2010, Russel Brand, 48, “appeared intoxicated, smelled of alcohol, and was carrying a bottle of vodka on set, and he exposed his genitalia to her in the presence of several cast and crew and employees from Warner Bros. (In charge of producing and distributing the movie).

In her affidavit, the woman  further alleged that “later that same day,” Brand entered the bathroom that she was in while “a member of the production crew guarded the door from outside.” She claimed that she was hired as an extra in the movie for three days but was not called back after the alleged assault and only got paid for one day of work.

Jane Doe decided to remain anonymous because she fears retaliation…

Jane Doe asserted that “as a result of the sexual abuse, I suffered and continue to suffer extreme embarrassment, shame, and fear.” She also mentioned, “As a result of the sexual assault by Russell Brand, I have found it difficult to trust others.”

The woman said in her court filing that she wanted to remain anonymous because “I still maintain my career as an actor, and I am terrified of being blacklisted in the industry or suffering other negative effects beyond what I already suffered if my name is associated with a sexual assault lawsuit against others in the industry.”

“I cannot bear to imagine my career that I love being jeopardized at this point in my life,” She continued.

In her affidavit, she also mentioned that she is scared of “retaliation against me and those close to me if my name was publicly associated with a sexual assault claim against a celebrity with a social media presence that includes millions of followers, including some that idolize Mr. Brand.”

Latest in a series of sexual assault cases…  

This sexual assault case is the latest in a series of allegations against Russel Brand. Several women have come forward to accuse him of inappropriate behavior and sexual assault, some of which are 20 years old.  

Previously, the 48-year-old actor had denied the accusations made by four women, which was part of an investigation by The Times, Channel 4’s Dispatches, and The Sunday Times. He had said that his relationships were “always consensual.” The actor has not made any comments on the New York Lawsuit.
