Bad Bunny Is Ready To Play El Muerto In A Marvel Movie By Sony

Marvel is coming up in the news back to back with both TV series and movies. After the Moon Knight, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, another news came into the spotlight that excited Marvel fans. Bad Bunny is cast for the upcoming Marvel movie to expand the universe.

Sony has announced the development of the El Muerto movie in development with the Platinum-selling Latin artist and Grammy Winner Bad Bunny. The news was announced at Cinemacon in Sony’s panel when Bad Bunny made an appearance.

If you are familiar with comics, you might know a lot about this character as he made multiple appearances in the comics. Juan Carlos, aka El Muerto, is a super-powered wrestler who fought with Spider-Man during a charity match, where he almost unmasked the hero. However, he got stung by paralyzing poison.

When El Dorado came to claim the life of El Muerto, Spider-Man saved him. They fought together to defeat El Dorado in the comics. The movie version might not follow the same timeline or story. It is the first time in Marvel that a Latin superhero is getting his own film. Also, this news came right after the announcement of the first female character from the Spider-Man universe to get own film, Madame Web.

Although El Muerto is not as popular as Kraven the Hunter or Venom, Sony rushed to do this with the persistence of Bad Bunny. The movie is planned to come to the theatres on January 12, 2024.
