Cardi B Appeared To Be Lip-Syncing, Gets Compared To Milli Vanilli
Cardi B appeared to have thrown her microphone at a woman in the audience while she was on stage. The act has drawn comparisons to the infamous R&B duo Milli Vanilli.
At her live performance, Cardi B stopped mid-performance to throw her mic at a woman who threw a drink at her from the crowd below. But curiously, the 30-year-old rapper’s number Bodak Yellow kept playing. This sparked a conversation on the possibility of Cardi B lip-syncing.
Although this was pretty obvious most of the concertgoers were more intrigued by what went down between the woman who splashed Cardi with a drink. The footage shows Cardi throwing her mic at her with a commendably precise aim.
Since the incident, the internet has been amuck with jokes drawing false similarities between her and the German-French musical duo Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan. They were infamously caught lip-syncing during a live performance back in 1990. Their record had skipped mid-show and left them exposed. They weren’t just caught lip-syncing. It was also found later that they weren’t even singing at the event, to begin with.
In the midst of Cardi-B’s incident, some have found her to be as classless as the 90’s duo, but obviously, things are not as extreme in Cardi’s case. Twitter users did not delay showing their support for the WAP star and pointing out the differences.
To be fair, artists are known to depend heavily on using backtracks for their live performances. All the big artists are now known to be doing this to add more entertainment value to their acts onstage. Furthermore, in Cardi’s case, there is no proof that she aws not rapping while the backtrack was running.
Cardi is known for doing her own work, and all the top stars have been caught mouthing their parts at some point. Beyonce, for instance, is also on that list.
