Talent Agency Dropped Susan Sarandon For Making Controversial Remarks On The Pro-palestine Rally
UTA, the talent agency, dropped Susan Sarandon because of her controversial comments. PEOPLE confirmed the information. The 77-year-old actress spoke at a rally in New York supporting Palestine in reference to the Israel-Hamal war.
According to a report by Variety, her speech included, “There are a lot of people that are afraid, that are afraid of being Jewish at this time.” she also said that the American Jews “are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country, so often subjected to violence.”
Sarandon also retweeted a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, about Roger Waters. The police investigated the musician Pink Floyd as a suspect in “incitement of the people” after he wore a Nazi-like image in Germany.
Sarandon shared a post that read Waers performed in Uruguay “despite attempts by the Israeli lobby to cancel the event.” According to the reports of ABC News, after the Hamas attack on the Iareili Civilians on October 7 and the air strikes in Gaza by the Israeli government, the United States has also seen a surge in the reports of anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim bias incidents.
According to CAIR or the Council on American-Islamic’s statement, “a wide variety of Americans, including public school and college students, doctors and other workers, protestors, and mosques,” have put in their reports of anti-Arab and anti-Muslim bias after the violence escalated.
Robert J. Contee III, the assistant director of FBI for partner engagement, mentioned to the Washington Post that, “We have definitely seen an uptick in threats across the country. It is focused on Jewish people and people from the Muslim community.”
