Chris Hemsworth gives a warm welcome to his Thor Co-star joining the Extraction 2 Franchise
Chris Hemsworth recently shared a new clip from his upcoming movie Extraction 2, revealing that his Thor co-star Idris Elba has joined the franchise. He shared the clip on his social media and captioned it, “Good to have Idris Elba join the Extraction team.” Idris also commented on the post with, “Yes brother. Extraction 2 let’s go!”.
In the clip, we can see Idris Elba’s unnamed character appearing alongside Chris Hemsworth’s character and quipping to him, “Rake — that’s such a fun name to say.” The clip does not make it clear whether Idris Elba’s character will be an ally or an enemy of Chris Hemsworth’s character Tyler Rake.
Previously, Elba and Hemsworth have worked alongside each other on Marvel Studio’s Thor Franchise, appearing as Thor, God of Thunder, and Heimdall, Guardian of Bifrost. Before Extraction 2, they were last seen together in Avengers: Infinity War.
Extraction, a Netflix original movie, was a huge hit and boasted a viewership of around 99 million households. It remains to be seen whether Extraction 2, a highly anticipated sequel, can live up to the success of the first movie.
Extraction is a classic action movie featuring some beautifully choreographed fight scenes. Even Chris Hemsworth was full of praise for the action sequences in Extraction. While talking about the fight scenes in Extraction, the actor has said that “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’m not exaggerating. At the end of a take, you’re sucking air like you never have before, and everyone drops to their knees. But it’s so much more rewarding.”
He also stated that he would like to see Marvel movies featuring similar choreographed fight scenes. A recently released trailer of Extraction 2 suggests that the sequel is also going to feature beautifully choreographed action scenes.
Extraction 2 is all set to release on Netflix on June 16. Sam Hargrave returns as a director, along with Joe and Anthony Russo as producers.
