‘Sooryavanshi’ Demands 100 Percent Screens And Theatres Comply

All of a sudden, everything in Bollywood is stirring. The industry, which had nearly gone inactive last year, has rapidly put up a massive calendar for 2022. Various production houses have booked slots for their upcoming films, even if some of them are still filming. If all goes according to plan, ‘Sooryavanshi’ will be the first significant release of this year because they have put the film on hold for a long time.

Sooryavanshi Is All Set To Release In 2021

Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Ranveer Kapoor, and Katrina Kaif is one of the highly awaited films postponed due to the Covid epidemic. But, on top of that, the makers have fought the OTT lure for a long time and have eventually announced Diwali as the release date for Rohit Shetty’s cop action film. 

Eternals, a Hollywood blockbuster, will also be released in India for Diwali, and with Sooryavanshi’s theatrical debut, the two films were set to compete at the box office. But, Sooryavanshi filmmakers may have discovered a means to block out competition from the Hollywood picture by requiring theatre owners not to show any other films on the same screen as theirs.

Furthermore, it is stated that the theatre owners have also complied with the movie producers’ demands. Unfortunately, this practically means that Eternals may have to be pushed back to later for the superhero film to be shown on select screens. 

We also heard the whispers of Salman Khan starring in ‘Antim’ to clash the release date with Sooryavanshi, but the film director, Manish Manjrekar, has not announced its release date yet. 

Sooryavanshi distributor Sunil Wadhwa confirmed that Sooryavanshi would be released in this year’s Diwali. In his interview with ET Times, he further mentioned that the movie would release in theatres to give the moviegoers a tentpole film they have long been waiting for. They are also happy that the exhibitors have ensured to provide them with 100% screen compliance, making them hope to have a blockbuster hit.

What We Think

Sooryavanshi will release this year’s Diwali so that it can grab a lot of crowds. We hope that this Rohit Shetty directorial and star-studded cast does well in the box office, as they are anticipating. But, knowing the release date now is making us even more impatient than we already were.
