Prime Video Launches Trailer for Biopic ‘A Million Miles Away’ Starring Michael Peña as Astronaut José Hernández
Prime Video has just dropped the trailer for its upcoming sci-fi drama “A Million Miles Away. It is based on the true story of the real-life astronaut José Hernández. Michael Peña will play the protagonist’s part, depicting the story of a migrant farm worker who becomes an astronaut and goes to space.
Honoring Hispanic Heritage Month, the film is slated to release on September 15. The trailer shows the perseverance with which Hernández actualizes his lifelong dream of going to space.
The film follows his journey from the rural village of Michoacán, Mexico, to the San Joaquin Valley to the International Space Station. Despite facing rejection time and time again from the uber-competitive space program, he keeps applying for it. He also faces challenges in his interpersonal relationships while aiming for the stars.
At the end of the trailer, Hernández asks, “Who better to leave this planet and dive into the unknown than a migrant farm worker?”
Others to star alongside Peña are Rosa Salazar, Sarayu Blue, Veronica Falcon, Julio Cesar Cadillo, and Garret Dillahunt. Alejandra Márquez Abella has written the screenplay and directed the film.
