Anupam Kher Is Nominated for #BestActor Academy Awards For The Kashmir Files In Oscar 2023

We all are excited about the Oscar 2023. 2022 was really an awesome year for global cinema, and that is why we got to see some amazing movies and brilliant performances of global artists. 

But we obviously didn’t see The Kashmir Files coming. However, we are keeping up with the announcements and declarations and checking on Oscars Shortlists. Recently we got an amazing update that Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files is shortlisted for Oscars 2023 in the first list. 

The director himself broke the news on the 10th of January morning. He also added the nominations of the cast of the movie; Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, and obviously Anupam Kher have been shortlisted for the best actor categories. 

This is indeed big news for Indian audiences and the Indian Film industry. However, it is not at all the first time that an Indian masterpiece has been shortlisted at the Oscars. The 2023 Oscar is going to be amazing for Indian cinema. 

While it was officially announced by the filmmaker, the cast also shared their feelings on Twitter. Anupam Kher, who was praised a lot for his stunning performance in this film, also tweeted his thoughts on this. 

“Deeply humbled to see #TheKashmirFiles as a film and my name shortlisted in #BestFilm and #BestActor category for the #Oscars2023! Even as a short list, it is a big triumph for us. Congratulations also to other Indian films on the list. भारतीय सिनेमा की जय हो! @TheAcademy”

Now, we are prepared for more surprises and counting the days to get the awards.
