Cardi B is Let Off Scot-free in Recent Mic-pelting Incident
Cardi B is not facing any charges for throwing her mic at a fan at a recent performance.
Cardi’s lawyers Drew Findling, David Chesnoff, and Richard Schonfeld have clarified to TMZ on Thursday that, “This afternoon we were notified by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept., that as a result of their investigation, there will be NO charges against Cardi.” They have further expressed their appreciation, saying, “On behalf of Cardi, we appreciate the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept’s diligent and prompt resolution of this matter.”
The Bodak Yellow rapper took to X shortly after to appreciate the news. Writing, “Remember …..,” captioning a picture of two Jewish men walking in the street. Some have deduced that it is a reference to her lawyers, who are Jewish.
Replying to her, a fan pointed out the lyrics to her song Bickenhead which was a hit in 2018 that goes, “Lawyer is a Jew he gon’ chew up all the charges.”
Nearly a week has gone by since Cardi B was sloshed with water by a fan while performing at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas. Initially shocked, Cardi regained herself and went on to throw her mic at the fan. The video of her throwing the mic has gone viral since being shared on TikTok on Sunday.
Her security intervened and escorted the fan off the premises. Another video of Cardi B actually encouraging her fans to “splash” water “in [her] p—y” surfaced, dividing netizens on who was at fault. She was heard saying, “That s–t feels good,” while bending over for fans to splash her.
The fan in question listed her as a suspect for battery, filing the charge to the Las Vegas Metro PD. According to her, as TMZ reports, she was not the one who threw water at Cardi. Instead, it was the woman standing next to her.
The microphone in question is now being auctioned for charity on eBay by Scott Fisher. His company had provided audio support for Cardi’s show. He wrote on the listing, “If you want a piece of hip hop infamy and what has now become national and world news then please bid whatever you are willing to spend….thanks.”
The mic has gathered a bid of more than $99,000 as of Thursday afternoon.
