India’s Oscar Nominated Movie’s Child Actor Rahul Koli Dies Aged 10
Rahul Koli, the child actor who played a very important role in the Gujarati movie Chhello Show, passed away at ten. The actor in the oscar-nominated movie had been battling Leukemia. Even though he was under treatment, he could not be saved.
Koli passed away just a few days before the release of his movie Chhello Show, which in English translates to Last Film Show.
According to Ramu Koli, the late actor’s father, Rahul had vomited blood before he breathed his last. “On Sunday, October 2, he had his breakfast, and then after repeated bouts of fever in the following hours, Rahul vomited blood thrice, and just like that, my child was no more.
”Our family is devastated. But we will watch his Last Film Show together on the release day on October 14 after we perform his final purification rituals,” Ramu, who drives an auto-rickshaw to earn a living, added.
Ramu also mentioned that Rahul was diagnosed with a terminal disease after the completion of the filming process of the movie. It was only after he showed symptoms like bouts of fever and vomiting blood that was he admitted to the hospital.
When no medication was able to subside the fever, his parents got worried. The deceased child actor was then admitted to Gujarat Cancer Research Institute (CGRI) which is based in Ahmedabad.
The movie is set to release in theaters on October 14. The film is the country’s official entry for the 2023 Oscars. The movie will be screened in as many as 98 theaters before the official release and teh tickets will be sold at a price as low as ninety-five rupees (₹95)
