Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolt,’ William Hurt Passes Away At Age 71; Oscar-Winning Actor Is Honored

Oscar-winning actor William Hurt, recognized as the Marvel Character Thaddeus Ross left for heavenly abode on Sunday at the age of 71. like ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman.’ He was also well known for his roles in movies such as ‘Kiss Of The Spider Woman.’

What Happened To Hurt?

In 2018, the actor himself disclosed publicly in 2018 that he was diagnosed with end stage or terminal prostate cancer. The deadly disease had spread to the bones. According to the media reports, an alternative form of chemotherapy saved his life at that time. “He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes. The family requests privacy at this time” mentioned Deadline. 

“It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday,” the actor’s son Will said to Deadline in a statement. 

Some More Deets About Our “Luis Molina”

Hurt finished his schooling at the esteemed Juilliard School in New York City. He emerged as one of the most distinguished leading personalities of the 1980s earning three Academy Award best actor nominations – One for 1985’s Kiss Of The Spider Woman where he played Luis Molina. Second for 1986’s Children Of A Lesser God, and third, Broadcast News From 1987. 

His remarkable achievement was winning Oscar for the portrayal of a homosexual man who lived in a prison cell with a Brazillian political prisoner in “Kiss of the Spider Woman.” His fourth and final Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor was for his performance in a crime thriller from 2005, ‘A History of Violence.’
