Taylor Swift is ending the year with another feather added to her cap. Times magazine named the pop superstar as “Person of the year” 2023. She beat out King Charles III and Barbie.
The magazine said, “While her popularity has grown across the decades, this is the year that Swift, 33, achieved a kind of nuclear fusion: shooting art and commerce together to release an energy of historic force.”
Times mentioned that during the dark times Swift found a way to give the world a bit of hope. That is the reason why they chose her. Time also said, “No one else on the planet today can move so many people so well. Achieving this feat is something we often chalk up to the alignments of planets and fates, but giving too much credit to the stars ignores her skill and her power.”
The magazine had a conversation with Swift where she mentioned, “this is the proudest and happiest I’ve ever felt, and the most creatively fulfilled and free I’ve ever been.” she even mentioned her new boyfriend, Travis Kelce, for the first time publicly.
She said she went to the games for Travis’s support and to boost the team. She further mentioned, “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
Her international Eras Tour was a part of this stunning year. Also, StubHub released the “Yaer in Live Experiences” 2023 report and revealed that the Eras Tour was StubHub’s biggest tour they had in its entire history.
In inspite of everything, Swift broke her own Spotify record and became the most-streamed artist in just one day, and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” became the most-streamed album this year within one day.
