Wanted A Romantic Fling During DWTS Days: Brooke Burke Said About Derek Hough

Brooke Burke happily admitted that she wanted to have a romantic fling with Derek Hough, her partner when they were together on “Dancing with the Stars.” She said this on the podcast “Sex, Lies and Spray Tans.”

This Sunday, while having a conversation with Cheryl Burke, another alum from “DWTS,” Brooke said, “Had I not been married … I would have actually hoped we would have had a love affair.”

Brooke was previously married to David Charvet, and she won the show in 2008 when she was married to him. Back then, she was attracted to Hough, who was just 23-years-old back then. She mentioned, “You are intertwined with someone’s body when you’re a dancer. There is no way that I have ever been so connected — besides with a lover or a husband — than I was with Derek.”

The 52-year-old entrepreneur recalled her time back when she rehearsed and performed with Hough for three months. She explained, “So for three months, you are in someone’s arms. Why do you think people fall in love?”

It Can Be More Intimate Than Making Love In A Bedroom  

She further said, “It can be more intimate than making love in a bedroom — you’re making love on a dance floor, you feel more connected. If you have energy, you’re doing this dance, and you’re in the rhythm, and then there’s trust, then you’re sharing fear, you’re doing something you’ve never done. How many times do you go through an experience with someone where they’re all you’ve got?”

Brooke was open with her confession. She said that because of the intimacy, she started crushing on Hough, even though it was difficult for them to connect in the beginning as partners.

She added, “He was really tough, he was really hard on me. I’m OK with tough love. He did not love me through routines and support me and tell me that it was amazing. He was brutally honest.”

Hough is now married to a fellow dancer and her long-term lover, Hayley Erbert. They got married in August with 160 guests in a romantic ceremony in California.
