Ambani Or Adani: Who Got The “Richest Tag?”, What Says, Bloomberg Billionaire Index?
Once again the Reliance Industries Limited Chairman & CEO and managing director, Mukesh Ambani takes the lead again as the “Richest Person in India”, with a net worth of $99.7 billion, as listed by Bloomberg Billionaire Index. Beating his rival fellow Industrialist Gautam Adani by one spot, Ambani is now in the 8th position on the World’s Richest Person’s list.
According to the Bloomberg Index, Mukesh Ambani increased his wealth by $9.69 billion in the year 2022, which ranked his position 8th & caused Gautam Adani to go down to rank 9th.
Only a few months back this year, in February, Ambani got beat by Adani as the richest person in Asia, and the world’s biggest wealth gainer.
According to the Forbes billionaire list, Mukesh Ambani grew his net worth to $104.7 billion this year. While Gautam Adani is at $100.1 billion, right following Ambani.
Reliance Industries Limited mainly focuses on petroleum, gas and oil, retail, and the telecom industry. A total of about 60% of Ambani’s revenue is generated through the petroleum industry, telecom, and retail industry.
Thought the list is led by Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk by a huge difference with a net worth of $227 billion, coming in 2nd Amazon’s Jeff Bezos by $149 billion. In number 3 comes Bernard Arnault with $138 billion, then comes Microsoft founder Bill Gates with $124 billion, and Warren Buffett with $114 billion.
This year late April, Adani rose to the 4th rank tying with Bill Gate, but in the last few weeks, Adani’s shares have dropped as investors have stepped back from them. That is when Adani’s rank dropped to 8th. But at last, Ambani switched his 9th place with Adani at last.
Ambani has profited immensely in global revenue during the Ukraine and Russia War. Their shares have increased by 16% in 2022 alone.
