French Abortion Drama ‘Happening’ Takes Golden Lion At Venice Film Festival!

Audrey Diwan got the golden lion at the Venice film festival. This time, it is one of the biggest news stories. The abortion film “L’Evenement” or “Happening” was nominated previously. And then in the 78th Venice film festival, they handover the prize to Audrey Diwan.

Story Of The Film

The film was superb and it came with a great message to the world. The story is of a college girl who suddenly found herself pregnant. This was an unwanted pregnancy and she raised herself up for abortion. This time, it is a great social message for all the audiences. The film is connected with emotions and that is why people loved the story.

This year, the competition was high because there were many more films with great news. Paolo Sorrentino’s “The Hand of God” has become the runner-up. Jane Campion’s “The Power of the Dog,” was also nominated for the golden lion.

Audrey Diwan said that, 

“I did this movie with anger. I did the movie with desire also. I did it with my belly, my guts, my heart, my head,” 

Diwan also added on Saturday,

“I wanted “Happening” to be an experience.”

Who has watched the film, they all are very happy with this news. The effort that Audrey put into the film was excessive and that is why the award made her emotional and proud.
