Why Is the TV Show Lucifer So Popular?
Let me tell you, Lucifans, the buzz around Lucifer is no joke! The first three seasons of the show garnered a massive following after its premiere on Fox. However, the series became really popular after Fox canceled it and Netflix picked it up. It quickly became one of the most binge-worthy series out there.

Tom Ellis is such an underrated actor!
Lucifer really surprised me by how much I enjoyed it. First of all, I can’t say enough about Tom Ellis. He is perfect for this role. I know a lot of people have already said this but he’s a really underrated actor. I can’t wait to see what he does next. Lucifer is based off the Neil Gaiman comics. It’s part fantasy, part comedy, part mystery, among other things. Some of the seasons seem a bit stretched out with some filler episodes but overall every season is terrific. Lucifer was canceled by Fox after three seasons but the fans were so upset and loud about it that Netflix picked it up and it continued for another three seasons, ending after Season 6. I already miss this show now that it’s gone. We’ll always have the reruns though.

Exquisite, Until It Wasn’t.
*This is a review for the entire series*
The first couple seasons of Lucifer were amazing. The show had a gripping formula of (good) procedural storytelling intermixed with an entertaining heaven/hell mythology. Tom Ellis is a massive reason for the success of the show. His portrayal of Lucifer is spot on. The charisma just jumps right off the screen and he also displayed the ability to create emotional moments that resonate with the viewer. The character feels real and Tom’s ability to carry a complicated show on his shoulders with ease can’t be understated.
You can definitely see why Netflix picked up the show when it was cancelled because the show didn’t deserve to be cancelled at all.
While the first couple seasons of the show were tight, engaging and well written, the latter half of the show’s run suffered from poor writing. Of course this is just my opinion, but I think the writers struggled with Lucifer and Chloe’s relationship, the side characters being removed from the central action and the balance between the procedural and mythology aspects of the show.
The first couple of seasons would have gotten an 8 from me but since I have to judge the entire show on a whole, my rating is being reduced to a 6.

Is A Potential Revival Of The Series On The Cards?
Alright, Lucifans, I know you’ve been waiting on the edge of your seats for updates on Lucifer Season 7, and I’m here to spill the latest scoop!
Lucifans out there will be disappointed to learn that as of December 2023, there have been no official announcements, trailers, teasers, or even hints from series creators suggesting that there will be another season of Lucifer in the future.
However, fans are still hoping for news about a potential revival of their favorite show, even though Season 6 provided a conclusive ending to Lucifer’s story.
Though it looks like a potential revival is not on the cards anytime soon, fans of Lucifer should not lose all hope. To mark the release of Lucifer Season 6 on Blu-ray/DVD format, the showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson were interviewed by entertainment website ScreenRant.
At the time, the creators said that they enjoyed making the show with the cast. They were also quite excited about getting together with the cast and crew to produce one more season of Lucifer “at some point” in the future.
Henderson said during the interview, “I mean, I hope so. We loved making the show, we loved working with these people. I think hopefully at some point, we can find a way to come back, or at least revisit or do something. It was such a great time, it’s such a great experience, and we love these people, so never say never.”
But if Lucifer ever makes a comeback, it will probably not be in the format that fans are used to. During the interview, the showrunners discussed in what formats they would like to see Lucifer make a comeback in.
Modrovich said, “My vote is for Lucifer The Musical, personally, on Broadway. If anybody wants to hashtag that, get that going.” But Henderson had a different idea. “I say Lucifer The Animated Series,” he pitched during the interview.
Are The Cast And Crew Of Lucifer Ready For Another Round?

One of the key factors that could determine the fate of Lucifer Season 7 is the availability and willingness of the cast and crew to continue their journey with the show. Unfortunately for us, it is uncertain whether we will get to see Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar again.
Before Season 6 premiered, there were some issues regarding contract negotiations between Warner Bros. Television and Tom Ellis. Apparently, at the time, Tom Ellis had rejected the Studio’s offer even though there was a deal already in place.
However, after repeated negotiations, both parties reached an agreement resulting in the premiere of Season 6 on Netflix on September 2022.
That being said, it is unclear whether Tom Ellis will return to reprise the role of Lucifer Morningstar. The rest of the cast also have not voiced any intention of returning or shown enthusiasm for Lucifer season 7.
So even if Season 7 happens, without the old cast, and especially Tom Ellis, it won’t be the same show that we all fell in love with.
