Old habits REALLY die hard.
On Wednesday, Malia Obama was photographed smoking outside a normal convenience store in LA. The former President Barack Obama’s daughter was puffing on a cigarette while chatting with her friend next to a black car.
The 25-year-old seemed to be relaxed while sporting a blue-colored cardigan, black shoes, and brown trousers. Malia further complemented her casual, makeup-free look by deciding to wear her beautiful long hair down.
This is not the first time the Harvard graduate has been seen smoking.
The former First Daughter was also seen smoking a joint when she attended the Lollapalooza festival in 2016 in Chicago.
Coincidentally, only weeks later, she was seen sporting a tee with the words ‘smoking kills’ at another music festival that took place in Philadelphia.
Smoking And The Obama Clan:
Smoking seems like a problem for the whole Obama clan, since Sasha Obama, Malia’s younger sister, was also spotted smoking recently in LA while she was leaving a Labor Day party last month.
The 22-year-old University of Southern California graduate was spotted in a blue maxi skirt and barely-there bikini top, socializing with her friends on the street. It is possible that the Obama sisters have picked up this habit from their father, Barack Obama.
The 62- year-old politician has opened up about his smoking addiction, previously revealing that he used to smoke around ten cigarettes in a single day.
However, right before the 2008 election, Barack had promised his wife, Michelle, that he would actually quit. At a 2009 press conference, he admitted, “As a former smoker, I constantly struggled with it. Have I fallen off the wagon sometimes? Yes. Am I a daily smoker or a constant smoker? No.”
He also credited his daughter Malia for helping him quit smoking in his memoir, A Promised Land, in 2020. The former President wrote that seeing his eldest daughter’s sheer disappointment every time she smelled tobacco made him quit for good.
