Netflix Reveals New Cast In Squid Game Season 2 : Release Date, Trailer, Many More

Released back in 2021, Squid Game took the charts by storm, racking up to 1.65 billion viewing hours in just 28 days of its release. It even went on to become of the highest-streamed Korean content on Netflix. Directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the show follows our protagonist Seong Jung-jae who, out of financial desperation, joins a game show that turns childish games into deadly contests of life and death. With season 2 coming, fans got a sneak peek at the casting and some other detail in a recent event in Brazil named TUDUM.

Using archival videos from season 1, the show confirmed several returning characters like Lee Jung-Jae (Seong Gi-Huh), Lee Byung-Hun (Front Man), Wi Ha-Jun (Hwang Jun-Ho), and Gong Yoo (Recruiter).

Meanwhile, some of the newer additions to the team include Yim Si-Wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-Hoon, and Yang Dong-Geun. As of now, the characters these new cast members would play are unclear, and fans are going crazy over the internet with all sorts of speculation.

However, in the wake of the recent announcement, some fans took to the internet to ask why no female cast members were unveiled. The reason behind this withholding of information from the makers is essentially unclear, and have certainly hyped up the mystery factor of the show.

As of the release date, fans need to wait a tad bit longer because the show might not hit the streaming platform before 2024, as confirmed by the reports. However, the makers of the show have some good news. To keep the fan base engaged till then, the makers have announced a reality show spinoff named Squid Game: The Challenge-an actual reality show based on the games depicted in the show.

With the recent unveiling, the fans are certainly hyped about the season 2 as well the season spin-off. However, given the mysterious nature of the announcement, the fans are still full of questions and are eager to find out more about their beloved show.
