Amidst Thor 5 Rumors, Hemsworth’s Old Statements Expressing Doubts About Return Resurfaces Online
Chris Hemsworth has played the role of God of Thunder multiple times, so much so that there is nothing separating him from Thor, the Marvel superhero. As per the latest gossip, the director Taika Waititi has dropped hints about the possibility of a fifth installment of the whole franchise.
In the latest interview, the director known for helming Thor: Love And Thunder revealed that the fifth installment of Thor is already in the planning stage, and the villain will perhaps be someone even more powerful than Hela, the Goddess of Death.
The moment reports went out about the upcoming Thor movie went viral, fans immediately started remembering how Hemsworth had expressed reluctance about playing Thor again, post the negative feedback that came his way after the release of Thir: Love And Thunder.
Looking Back:
During a throwback interview of Hemsworth with Entertainment Weekly, the actor had mentioned that he had no intention of playing Thor until fans were actually ‘exhausted’ and might even ‘roll their eyes’ when he makes an appearance on screens.
In total, the talented Australian actor has played the role of God of Thunder in nine Marvel films and four solo films. The four solo Thor films are as follows – Thor in 2011, Thor: The Dark World in 2013, Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, and Thor: Love And Thunder in 2022.
Hemsworth talked about his doubts regarding doing another movie as Thor,
“I don’t want to continue to do it until people are so exhausted that they roll their eyes when they see me come on the screen as that character. If an audience wants to see it, and if there’s something that we believe is exciting and fun, then great. I’ve loved being able to reinvent that character a few times. I don’t have the answer yet, but I would love to try and [figure out] how we can do that again and keep it a little unpredictable.”
Love And Thunder did introduce two brand-new major characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, namely, Eternity and Hercules. While one of them happens to be a villain, as per the comics, the other character might go on to play a vital role in the Multiverse saga that is supposed to ultimately culminate in the Avengers: Secret Wars.
