Teresa Giudice Strikes While the Iron is Hot: Mocks Sofia Vergara’s Spanish Accent

Teresa Giudice evidently enjoys slamming Sofia Vergara for a year-old incident that left her bitter. She recounted the selfie-snubbing story and jeered at Sofia’s background. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star was recapitulating the old story with her co-host Malissa Pfeister on their joint podcast Namaste B$tches.

Now that Vergara is back in the news for her divorce from Joe Manganiello, Teresa seems to be taking her chances wisely. Bringing up this old tale could be relevant, or so Teresa thinks. 

She goes on to explain that back in 2017, Teresa was at an event where Sofia was also present. Their publicists suggested they take a picture together, but Giudice claims that Sofia had thrown a tantrum about it. In fact, Sofia was allegedly super rude when expressing her disapproval of the picture-taking move. Vergara apparently asked her own publicist why she had to do this at all in the first place. 

“Sofia Vergara’s PR person and my PR person spoke together, and I guess the two of them said, ‘Let’s get a picture of Teresa and Sofia together,” she continued, “I didn’t want a picture with her. I never ask to take a picture with anybody.” She goes on still, “I didn’t care to take a picture with her. I’m so not like that, when we went to go take picture, she was like standing in front of me. It’s like, ‘OK, that’s not how you take a picture.’ She was like, the most rudest (sic) woman I’ve ever met. Like, I saw her whole demeanor, and then I heard her say to her PR person, ‘Why you making me take a picture with that lady?'” mimicking her Colombian accent.

“I was just like, ‘Excuse me?’ I said, ‘I did not want to take a picture with you.’ I said, ‘I would never ask to take a picture with you.’

“She just looked at me,” Teresa concludes, saying they both walked away without a picture.

Teresa, heavily offended, insists all over again that Vergara could have been more polite. Teresa believes that she comes from humble beginnings, and that should keep her grounded. In her latest podcast, she is not as blatantly xenophobic as she was in 2017 when she narrated this story for the first time. 

Back then, she demanded kindness as Sofia was an immigrant, and she seemed to be suggesting the same thing again with a more diluted approach, making fun of her Colombian accent. 

Teresa seems to be getting at the fact that Vergara’s foreign links to Latin America automatically mean she should be extra humble when expressing anything in front of American stars. 

Guidice remarked, “I was like, ‘How rude… You’re so not a humble person. You forgot where you came from. It’s not like she, you know, she started out like being on the top, you know… She forgot where she came from. She was so not a down-to-earth person,” Giudice said of the Colombia native. She ends by saying, “So not a fan of her.”
