Teyana Taylor Filed For Divorce Secretly From Iman Shumpert, Called Him A Narcissist
Tenaya Taylor has filed for divorce against Iman Shumpert. She secretly filed for divorce almost a year ago and claimed that throughout their 7-year marriage, he had been nothing but a jealous narcissist.
As per the legal documents that TMZ got, Teyana filed for divorce in January, which is almost 8months prior they announced their separation. Teyana accused Iman of being jealous of the fame she got and also mentioned that he was insecure that she was good enough to make her own dreams come true.
Even though he was earning a lot more from his basketball career, he was jealous of her fame. He used to get annoyed when they attended any public events together people asked him to get out of the frame and click photos with her.
She said that back in 2015, he signed a contract worth $40 million with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the same year he got paid an amount of $8 million by the Knicks, but he was not even satisfied with that. He was still jealous of the career she made in acting and was insecure about being Tayana’s man.
They Tried To Reconcile, But That Was Short-lived
He started sending her negative texts, using manipulative language, and picking fights without any reason. She mentioned that she, “began to intentionally dim her light for her husband to try to have a harmonious and peaceful marriage” when he “became more and more angry” about her growing popularity.
Tayana said that, towards the end, he became abusive. Both emotionally and mentally. All these pushed her to go through the divorce procedure and end the marriage. After that, they reconciled for a while, but that was also short-lived. But in 2022, he again started manipulating her, and then she filed for divorce. He was also involved in various scandals when they were married and was also arrested for having weed in his possession. All of these made her believe that it was time to part ways.
