Britney Spears Talks About When She Attacked The Paparazzi And Shaved Her Head
Britney Spears is clearing things up about the public breakdown she had in 2007. In her upcoming memoir, she wrote about the time when she hit a photographer’s car with an umbrella prior to shaving her head and explained what she was going through with her custody battle back then.
Britney also wrote she was in a bad place after the death of her aunt, Sandra Bridges Covington, the same year. She was going through legal disputes with her ex-husband Kevin Federline over their kids.
She wrote in her memoir, “With my head shaved, everyone was scared of me, even my mom. Flailing those weeks without my children, I lost it over and over again. I didn’t even really know how to take care of myself.” all the incidents together made her shave her head and attack the car of the paparazzi, as she was not in the right mind.
She wrote in the book, “I am willing to admit that in the throes of severe postpartum depression, abandonment by my husband, the torture of being separated from my two babies, the death of my adored aunt Sandra, and the constant drumbeat of pressure from paparazzi, I’d begin to think in some ways like a child.”
She was also put in conservatorship by the court and granted Jamie Spears, her father, and a lawyer to take control over her personal affairs and her finances. They did not allow her to keep her head shaved, have her various medicines taken, and ask her to go to bed early. In an interview with PEOPLE, Spears said, “Over the past 15 years or even at the start of my career, I sat back while people spoke about me and told my story for me. After getting out of my conservatorship, I was finally free to tell my story without consequences from the people in charge of my life.”
