What’s The Video Footage Showing?
US Reporter Sharon Carpenter took to social media to share the incident to the best of her knowledge. Security and his entourage then cornered the man as Dave joked about him getting ‘stomped’ backstage.”
Take a look at the video footage below.
Social media channels are flooded with several clips of the attack where Chapelle is found to mock after the incident saying, “It Was A Trans Man.” This reminds me of the controversy he entangled in October 2021.
Sarcasm Above Reality
Publications such as Daily Mail reported that Chris Rock, the comedian, arrived on stage and enquired, “Was that Will Smith?” Recently, Smith took the headlines by slapping Rock at the Oscars. However, another video footage shared by @ab_a_w_p on Twitter showed the attacker being treated on a stretcher after the show. Police have not yet revealed the details of the attacker.
The Final Words
In a statement, a Netflix spokesperson has said, “We care deeply about the safety of creators and we strongly defend the right of stand-up comedians to perform on stage without fear of violence.” Although the motivation of the attack is unclear, investigations are going on. The event was being held in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl, featuring big names like Snoop Dogg, Bill Burr, Pete Davidson, and Seth Rogan.
