DiCaprio And Lawrence Actually Made Us Look Up: Review Of Don’t Look Up

DiCaprio And Lawrence Are Making Us Look Up

Amidst the rising cases of Omicron all over the world, Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer Lawrence have shared screens in Netflix’s Don’t Look Up – an all-star comedy movie. Wait, aren’t these two names enough to lure you, or do you need more? Okay, there are also Merryl Streep, Ariana Grande, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, as well as Timothee Chalamet… are you convinced enough now?

With a comet about to collide with Earth, the movie traverses how this era of fake news is hampering the world. Precisely, Comet is just a metaphor for the climate crisis, which on the other hand, is relatable to the pandemic. The movie is actually sarcastic and ironic at the same time as it sinks deeper into the social divide.

Is ‘ Don’t Look Up ’ An Attempt To Save The World?

Being premiered in theaters on Dec. 10, and streamed on Netflix on Dec 24, Don’t Look Up is a meaningful Christmas gift to the world. The fundamental intention behind it is to stimulate the conversation about ignoring a crisis till it’s out of hands. As an allegory of rising Climate Change, the movie has asked the world to take measures instead of disregarding it. With a star-studded cast, it is basically a satire reflecting the present societal state.

What’s Our Viewpoint?

To summarize, Don’t Look Up might usher some impacts on the psychology of the audiences. Nevertheless, McKay through his incredible filmmaking skill has tried to alarm people about the climate crisis through this comedy. There is a possibility that you might end up with a Crash Landing Experience. Thus, even if it does not work up to the mark, you will get a chance to see the legendary cast members on the same screen.
