It is in talks in the DC Town that Henry Cavill is going to be reprising his role as our all-time favorite Kryptonite hero. Yes, you heard that right! The fans’ got their wishes finally fulfilled. What better person than Henry to suit this role? That man literally looks like he stepped out of the comic book.
Henry Cavill played both Clark Kent and Superman in the 2013 movie “Man of Steel,” which was the last standalone movie to exclusively focus on the character of Superman.
Although Cavill played Superman in two further films, “Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice” in 2016 and “Justice League” in 2017, there has been no word about Cavill taking on the character again for a standalone film.
Walter Hamada, the head of DC movies, had opposed plans to make a new Superman movie with Cavill because he had his own ideas for Superman movies. But now that Hamada’s stay in Washington, DC, is coming to an end (according to sources)…things are about to change.
Now Warner Bros Studio is saying that they want and have an “intense desire” to see Cavill play the part again and the project essentially would be that of Man of Steel 2. Reportedly, Henry Cavill still apparently aspires to be the Blue Boy Scout too!
DC officials have created a shortlist and are currently looking for a creative team for the upcoming film.
Christopher McQuarrie, who has been running the “Mission: Impossible” franchise since “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” in 2015, is one of the names they’re aiming to obtain, but they haven’t made an official offer yet (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Previously, McQuarrie and Cavill collaborated on the 2018 sequel “Mission: Impossible – Fallout.”
