Kayti Edwards, Matthew Perry’s Ex, Claims He Might Have Relapsed Before His Death
Kayti Edwards, Matthew Perry’s ex-girlfriend, mentioned that the “Friends” star might have relapsed before his death. In an interview with the UK Sun, she said, “I know Matthew, and I know that he wouldn’t have just drowned. I think he might have taken pills in the week leading up to this.”
The model claimed that she dated Perry back in 2006 after they met at the Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. She also mentioned that they were close to each other after they had their fling and worked as an assistant to Perry in 2011. The initial toxicology report showed there was no meth or fentanyl present. She also said that the details of his death did not add up.
She mentioned, “They said there were no prescription painkillers at the scene, which doesn’t surprise me because he didn’t leave drugs lying around. He was paranoid and would take them all, so there wasn’t any evidence, and then go out for more when he was ready to.”
Edward mentioned in the Outlet that his last Instagram post gave some clues that he was relapsing. One of his last Instagram showed a picture of him inside the jacuzzi and gave a caption, “Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman.”
She also said, “That Mattman thing was not something he did when he was sober. Mattman would come out when he was not sober, and he felt kind of invincible. I was around when he was getting high, although I was not getting high with him, and when I would say maybe he should cool it a little bit with the drugs, he would say, ‘No, I’m Mattman.’”
He was quite candid about his life and mentioned that in his memoir “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.” He was laid to rest on November 8 in Hollywood at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
