Madonna Recalls The Tragic Moment Of Losing Her Mother In A Heartfelt Post
Mother’s Day was last week, and Madonna shared a heartfelt note for her mother. Madonna recalled the tragic moment when she lost her mother at the age of just 5. She died of breast cancer at the age of 30 in December 1963.
The carousel began with a photo of the Pop Queen performing in her recent Celebration Tour, looking up at her mom’s pictures on the jumbo screen. She wrote the caption, “I stood on stage for 81 shows staring up at the beautiful face of my mother and wondering what she must’ve been thinking as she waved goodbye to me from her hospital window.”
She further added, “I stepped into the station wagon and shut the door not knowing it was the last time I’d see her. Nobody told me my mother was dying – I just watched her disintegrate mysteriously, and then she disappeared, and there was no explanation except that she had gone to sleep, which explains My Tumultuous relationship with sleep.”
She Bonded More With Her Kids on This Tour
All her children live under the same roof, and when they grow up, they are going to choose their own careers and move out. She mentioned that she is going to have a hard time letting them go.
She said, “No Easy way into the motherhood game. No manual or University. Just trial and error and learn and succeed and then fail again. Finally the realization that they were raising me and not the other way around.”
She said even though people joke about the fact that motherhood = suffering,” is absolutely true. It is the truest thing in the world. She often thinks about whether she has been a good mother or not. Whether she could do better at the job. She still thinks about whether her mother would be proud of her.
