Britney Spears Talks About Life After Divorce; Says “It’s So Weird Being Single”
On Sunday, Britney Spears shared a long post on her Instagram account ruminating about her new single life. The post comes almost four months after her estranged husband, Sam Asghari, petitioned for divorce.
The 42-year-old Pop Star wrote on her instagram, “It’s so weird being single … I’ve had a lot of time to really look back with all the good and bad…”
She continued, “I’ve realized I don’t talk to myself that nicely at all … I’m easily manipulated and I wear my heart on my sleeve …But I’m definitely changing all that … I have to make time to stop and look around to re-evaluate myself and say is this good for me ???”
The singer mentioned in her instagram post that she likes following a routine and she does ‘the same thing every day…” She is also “honestly bored” but “also scared of a lot of things …”
But no matter how boring her life is, Spears noted that she is proud of it because “…The way I live my life is mine … I’ve had so many people interfere with that … But to know it’s ok to be selfish with my life and enjoy it is amazing!!!”
Spears and Asghari first met in 2016, and the couple dated for seven years before marrying in 2022. Their marriage lasted only for 14 months.
Asghari, 29, petitioned for divorce from the ‘Toxic’ singer in August 2023 and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for divorce. The date of separation recorded on their divorce papers is July 28.
At the time, Britney was accused of physically abusing Sam Asghari and being unfaithful to him. Asghari also alleged that the “Oops…I did it again” singer gave him a black eye during one of their arguments.
