Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka, her long-term boyfriend, are calling it quits because he wants to have kids. Page Six mentioned that their age gap played a vital role in their break up. 40-year-old Tanaka wants different things, but 54-year-old Carey is not prepared for that.
According to a source, who revealed it to Page Six, “He wants to have a family. That’s not where she is at.” Carey has a pair of twins, Monroe and Moroccan, who she shares with Nick Cannon, her ex-husband. While Tanaka does not have any kids of his own.
They have been together for almost seven years now. People were guessing that there could be something wrong when Cariewent went on the annual trip to Aspen, Colo, alone. Tanaka was also not there in her “Merry Christmas One and All!” tour which started in November.
Taaka started working with Carey in 2006 as a dancer, and they started dating in 2016. Another source told PageSix, “He wants to start having his own life.” Carey’s comment to People this month started the speculations, where she mentioned that she had a tough year.
She said, “I’ve been looking forward to this Christmas for, like, the whole year. Since last year — because last year wasn’t the greatest. I’m thankful for them all, but it wasn’t my most fun version of Christmas ever.” Carey vowed that she would be having fun this holiday season even if she was going through a difficult time. Tanaka and the Grammy winner were last seen together in March, during her birthday. Back in 2017, they broke up once but made it up again.
