Fantastic Beasts 3 : The Secrets of Dumbledore Sets New 2022 Release Date

Fantastic Beasts 3 was supposed to be a five-movie series. It revolves around the wizarding world and accounts for the Harry Potter films, books, and storyline. The ‘Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore’ will be the 3rd movie in this franchise. It will be released on 15th April 2022.

The movie will feature young Dumbledore, who recently got to know Grindelwald’s actual motto of seizing control of the wizarding world. Knowing this, Dumbledore started enlisting Newt Scamander to form a team and lead them towards a risky mission. On this mission, the team and Dumbledore will witness some old and some new creatures of Grindelwald’s increasing cue of followers. 

David Yates will be directing this new film, and it will be a sequel to the second film of this franchise, ‘Fantastic Beasts 3: The Crimes of Grindelwald.’ JK Rowling and Steve Kloves are working on the scripts together. 

Rowling has already arranged for a screenplay of this movie, and based on that; the duo is working on the script. As far as we know, it will be a prequel and will follow the storyline of a magizoologist, Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander, and young Dumbledore on a path to deal with the former dark lord, Gellert Grindelwald, before Voldemort. 

The film is produced by Tim Lewis, Heyman, Lionel Wigram, Kloves, and Rowling.

The Casting

In ‘The Secrets of Dumbledore,’ we will see Jude Law in the role of young Dumbledore. Dumbledore later becomes the headmaster of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series. However, he was initially appointed in the school as the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. 

In the previous movie of this franchise, where we encountered Grindelwald for the first time, we saw Johnny Depp slaying this role. But, the actor has been going through some legal drama and lost the case against ‘The Sun,’ a UK newspaper where they referred to the star as ‘wife beater.’ Since then, Warner Bros decided to eliminate him for Grindelwald’s role, and they plan to cast Mads Mikkelsen for Grindelwald. But, Mikkelsen said that the world might not accept him as Grindelwald because Depp played the role perfectly before. 

Apart from casting Jude Law as Dumbledore, and Mads Mikkelsen for Grindelwald, the rest of the cast of this film also looks quite impressive. We will see Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, and we expect to see nothing but an award-winning performance from the ‘Les Misérables’ star. The movie will also feature Alison Sudol, William Nadylam, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Kevin Guthrie, Callum Turner, Zoë Kravitz, and Claudia Kim. 

What We Think

By the end of the last movie, ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’, we saw Credence joining Grindelwald, and Grindelwald revealed his actual name, Aurelius Dumbledore. Dumbledore’s mother died in that film, and his brother tried to stop him from joining the evil army. The new movie will probably pick the pace from there, so we are excited to see it in theaters next year. We hope to get some more updates on the movie soon.
