Jada Pinkett Smith Opens Up About Her Marriage, Saying She And Will Smith “live Separately”

Jada Pinkett Smith is opening up about the setbacks in her marriage to Will Smith. In an exclusive preview of her recent interview with Hoda Kotb for NBC’s Today Show to promote her new memoir “Worthy,” the American Actress and Talk Show host revealed that she and Will Smith are not together romantically.

Though the couple is still married on paper, the truth is that they have been leading a separate life since 2016. Over the years, there have been rumors that Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith are in an open relationship. However, the couple managed to maintain a united front in public.

“It was not a divorce on paper, but it was a divorce,” Host Hoda Kotb said while discussing the couple’s relationship. Jada Pinkett confirmed this and also mentioned that they “live separately.”

During the interview, Jada Pinkett Smith also talked about why the couple never announced in public that they had separated. “I think just not being ready yet. Still trying to figure out between the two of us how to be in partnership, right, and in regards to how do we present that to people, you know? And we hadn’t figured that out,”

The “Bad Moms” actress said that there were several things that led to the disintegration of her marriage with Will Smith. She went on to say, “I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”

But despite living separately since 2016, ‘The Matrix Revolution’ actress revealed that she is not thinking of filing for divorce anytime soon. She said, “I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through whatever. And I just haven’t been able to break that promise.”
