Katy Perry Gave A Hint About Knowing “The Real Truth” About Russel Brand
Katy Perry gave a subtle hint that she knew the truth about Russel Brand years before the claims of sexual abuse came out. In an interview with Vogue back in 2013, which has come up now in between the allegation that has been going on right now against Brand, where the “Firework” singer called her ex-husband “controlling,” and talked about their “really hurtful” marriage.
Katy Perry loved Brand when they got married back in October 2010, according to the information she gave to the outlet. But they divorced after being married for fourteen months when Katy Perry received a breakup note over the text on 2011 New Year’s Eve. In the beginning, she was blaming herself, but later on, she found the actual truth about her husband.
Back then, she said, “At first when I met him he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal, and they’re like, ‘I can’t handle the equalness.’ He didn’t like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour. So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting.”
She further added, “I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day. I let go, and I was like, ‘This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me.’ So I have moved on from that.”
Perry has not yet disclosed what she is talking about, but fans are speculating that she was talking about the dark past of Brand with the new allegations coming up. Page Six has asked the singer for a comment but has not received anything.
The Sunday Times published a bombshell where four women accused Brand of emotional abuse, sexual assault, and rape in incidents that allegedly happened between 2006 and 2013.
One of the victims accused Brand of raping her against a wall in his Lo Angeles home in 2012. She also mentioned that she has the necessary medical records to prove her allegations. Another victim said that she and Russel Brand were in an “emotionally abusive and controlling” relationship back when she was just 16 and Brand was 31.
Russel Brand denied and said these are “extremely disturbing” allegations
Brand denied all the accusations and said, “I have received two extremely disturbing letters, or a letter and an email, one from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper, listing a litany of egregious and aggressive attacks. Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks, are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.’
He added, “When I was in the movies, and as I’ve written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous. During that time of promiscuity, the relationships that I had were absolutely always consensual.”
The actor said that these are “very, very serious” allegations and added, “[There are] witnesses whose evidence directly contradicts the narratives that these two mainstream media outlets are trying to construct, apparently, in what seems to me to be a coordinated attack.” He ended with, “I don’t want to get into this any further because of the serious nature of the allegations but I feel like I’m being attacked and plainly they are working very closely together.”
