Kim Kardashian Is Coming To Netflix: The Fifth Wheel Is On The Cards!
Kim K is simply jumping to Netflix from Hulu, at least for films, because she was able to sell an upcoming comedy she will be starring in our favorite streaming giant. And, of course, this has stirred a lot of interest.
On Sunday, Deadline announced the news that a new movie known as “The Fifth Wheel” was sold to the streaming giant after a bidding war took place to get the rights. Five different studios took part in the bidding war, with Netflix winning the war with a winning offer in the end. However, we don’t know how much Netflix actually shelled out.
What We Know About The Fifth Wheel So Far?
The film has not been shot or even written yet. It was just Kim and two other writers who actually came up with the whole concept. Janine Brito and Paula Pell were able to sell the idea simply, and now they can make it.
Of course, Kim will play the lead role – the ‘Fifth wheel’ amidst a complete ensemble of female actors. That’s all we know – the plot is under wraps now, but we hear whispers that Brito and Pell immediately thought of the Skims moghul and pitched to her. Once she came on board, they began going around town with the Actor’s strike coming to an end.
Deadline spoke about Kim being there for plenty of meetings, while her basic involvement ended up spurring several studios to actually open their doors, taking the film under consideration. By the way, she is not just going to act in this film, but she will also produce apart from Pell and others.
Pell is an established and well-known television comedy writer like Brito. Pell’s actually got a detailed resume with plenty of SNL credits. She is also known for writing “Sisters“, the film starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Pauler also noted for her Judd Apatow’s ‘This Is 40.’
